Energy and economic experts had predicted that low oil prices would kill US Shale oil producers. There has been a hit to the Shale producers but they are getting more efficient and have lowered the oil price where they can breakeven
Those “nothing can replace oil” doomers we all know have got some explaining to do! But rather than gloat that shale oil is coming along, I of course see it as a climate tragedy. Sadly it’s an oil supply win, and makes us less likely to move to electric cars and boron trucks and of course, rail, rail, rail. .
